College roommate deadlines
Updated October 2026
These are the first-year housing application and roommate request deadlines at 15 colleges, sorted by date. Every date links to the school’s own housing page, because deadlines change every year.
Note: many schools post Fall 2027 dates over the winter. Where a school has not posted them yet, we show last cycle’s date, marked with its year, so you know roughly when to expect it.

What should you do before your deadline?
Most schools only accept a roommate request when both students submit it, so agree with your roommate first and give yourselves a few days before the deadline. Our guide on how to find a college roommate covers the options, and the questions to ask a potential roommate help you decide.
